NOTE: Before we start, I would like to address the new pop-ups here in tripod. There seem to be twice the amout that used to be here. My sincere apologies. Let them open, and then close them if you are not interested in anything they have to offer. Unless of course, you have a pop-up blocker! LOL Also, recently they have decided to add a banner to the top of each page. Again, my apologies. To Navigate through our web-site, click on the links toward the top of the pages. Now... On to the site! :) ![]()
Our first bus... home for about a year.
We upgraded to our GMC 4521 bus when we out-grew the "skoolie"
And are now in our Third, a GMC 4905 Buffalo.
Hi there! Welcome to our family web site. We are glad you decided to drop in. We are a unique family some would say. I guess I would say so as well. Why are we so unique? Well, for one thing, we sort of "dropped out" of society. I mean, we still live here, but for the most part, decided that the "American Dream" many people seek is really an American Nightmare. We had the nice 3 bedroom Cape Cod home in a little waterfront community, owned a small business, sent our kids to the neighborhood Catholic school. We also had the mortgage, the car payments, the bills, etc. Keeping up with the 'Jones' got to be a very full-time affair, and both of us had to work to make sure that all the bills got paid. I worked in our business, my wife managed another. As we looked around, we saw that most of our friends were living the same life - both parents having to work to keep things afloat and never having enough free time to spend with the kids. You get up in the morning, get the kids ready for school and yourself ready for work. If you are lucky, one of you is able to be home when the kids get out of school, then you make the evening meal, do the household chores and get ready for bed. Maybe, you have a job where you have the weekends off, maybe you don't. If you do have the weekends off, you might be spending much of it doing the chores you didn't have time to do during the week, helping the kids get tons of homework done, or just resting so you can do it all again on Monday morning. We saw so many of our friends stressed out and all of our kids growing up without us. We knew there had to be a better way. So, we pulled our kids out of school, sold the house and the business and "dropped out". How did we do it you say? Well, there are many ways to drop out and live more simply. The first thing we decided to do, was to become missionaries in a life where we could travel and try to make a difference in people's lives - a lifestyle where we could spend time with our kids while they were still young. We have another web-site dedicated to that endeavor. Here is that link... Our other web-page You can also go here on THIS site and learn a little more about our ministry. Our Ministry Page. We no longer live in a house. We no longer have tons of bills to pay. Our children are enrolled in private school which allows them to learn on the road. We have a home, but it is on wheels and we can move it wherever we want whenever we want. Here are a few pictures of our "alternative" house. Our "House" Many other "Full-timers" ask about our portable garden. Here is a web-page with pictures and discussion about our container garden. Hopefully, this site will give you an idea of how we "dropped Out". If you have any suggestions or questions, please feel free to contact us. We'd love to hear from you.
